Hwang is looking sad and nutty. I think the 'pride of korea' is not doing too well.

Jeff, Koreans dont like it when you tell them the truth.

Is that you Gordon Kim?

I understood Gordon's comment rather differently from you. You seemed to think it was suggesting the issues you raise are not important, but I doubt that was the implication of what he wrote.

All of the issues you raise are indeed interesting in and of themselves. The question he raised was why you select these particular issues, all of which are critical (many strongly derisive) of Korea.

This could suggest (to someone who only knows your opinions from this blog) that you have a very low opinion of Korea. If a person has a low opinion of a place and yet chooses to stay there, it is quite reasonable to ask them if there is anything they like and why they remain.

Maybe my interpetation is wrong, but I felt they were reasonable questions, strongly expressed.

I think I like your rebuttals to idiotic comments even better than your actual posts. :)

Gordon,

"I briefly looked at your blog - let's sum up:"

Gordon, I briefly looked at your comment - let's sum up:

"scamming Korean scientists,"

So, are you saying lying, cheating, and falsifying scientific reseacher is ok?

"foolish Korean racistsis in convenience stores,"

So, are you saying racism is ok?

"Koreans fools protesting outside the embassy"

So, are you saying that falsly accusing someone of plagiarism is ok? Do you not find it odd to protest to a motion picture company in front of an Embassy?

"followed by an article entitled 'What's wrong with Koreans?'"

Did you notice that the article was writen by a Korean about other Koreans? Bring up your complaint with her.

"Korea 'wanting to be a terror victim'"

Whether you like it or not, whether you agree with me or not. It is an undeniable fact that many Koreans take pride in and virtually brag about how at risk they are and how they could be a terror target.

"Korea's vain attempt at validity by comparison to other things"

You misread. it is the UNNECESSARY comparisons. So, why do YOU think Koreans compare everyone and everything else to people and things in other countries?

"the absurdity of Korean outside gas stations"

No.. just the silliness of being so proud about a "new" invention that has been a part of everyone else's life for 20 years....without even bothering to find out if I had ever seen one before.

' .... thank god I didn't go on to the second page.
Tell me, is there ANYTHING you LIKE about Korea? After reading your articles, I'm really amazed that you bother to stay. It seems you haven't a positive word to say about the country at all."

Again, does the fact that I, as a mere foreigner, point out racism, the corruption, the lying, the unnecessary inferiority complex, etc., somehow mean that it its not really happening? By telling me to "go back to America," are you telling me that racism, corruption, fraud, etc. is acceptable and I should just go away and let this stuff continue? Surely you don't think those are admirable traits that should emulated by you and your children do you>

"hy don't you go back to america?"

Why don't you address the issues I raise... If you don't like them, post counter-arguments, not illogical comments about me.

Well . . . he might off himself because he has nothing but more humiliation to live for, and since he's a 'devout' Buddhist, he can come back for a second chance anyway.

Fitting next life: return as a cloned hound dog, crying all the time.
