Eric, Good points.

A dear friend of mine from Kota Kinabalu lost her uncle in the wave (prayers are with you Jia). I had a day or so of worry about some friends vacationing in Thailand, and we are still waiting to hear from a friend of my brother who was supposed to be vacationing there.

As daily problems suddenly become a insignificant, we are drawn back to the basics of being happy that at least we are alive. We can then expand our happiness outward as much as possible.

Best wishes to all you readers!

Happy New Year to you too though at the moment feeling a bit down. North-east Penang (Malaysia) was a bit hit by the tsunami but compared to Phuket, Phi Phi, Aceh and others, it was nothing. I suppose life goes on... and we (humans) carry on not learning. At times like these, what irritated us (Malaysians) before, seems petty.

Living in Pusan, do you know any good Korean slang phrases different from Seoul. I'm becoming more serious about studying Korean and was hoping you could post some Pusan expressions you hear. Thanks and happy New Year!
