Sitting here thinking, 13 years sober. I have God, Stevie and Tommy to thank for my sobriety. 15 years of missing my hero but living through his music every single day. Today is remembered or thought about in different ways. I remember and I am again thankful come October 3rd. On my screen saver is the pick plate bearing SRV so everytime that I log on I continue to be strong. Thank you for this time. JLM

Hi Jeff. Long time reader, first time poster.

It's funny but I still remember watching MTV when I was 12 years old in 1990 (hoping for a Great White or Bon Jovi video to come on) and remembering MTV news cut in to talk about his death.

Of course because my tastes were too shaped by a hich school girl (my older sister) I didn't know who he was, but in the last couple of days I've taken the time to understand the loss to the music community his death was and at the same time appreciate what time allowed him to share.

Thanks for the article.
